PM Shehbaz Urges Dialogue to Reintegrate Misguided Individuals at Balochistan Grand Jirga
Quetta, May 31, 2025 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, addressing the Balochistan Grand Jirga in Quetta, emphasized the importance of dialogue in addressing the province’s challenges. He called for collective efforts to reintegrate individuals who have been misled by extremist elements, stating, “We must make efforts to bring back the people who were misled [by the terrorists] onto the wrong track.”
Highlighting the need for unity, the Prime Minister remarked, “If there are any concerns, brothers need to sit together to solve those issues.” He stressed that economic or social injustices cannot persist in Balochistan under his administration.
In terms of development, PM Shehbaz announced that Balochistan would receive Rs250 billion from the upcoming federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), accounting for 25% of the total Rs1 trillion budget. He also mentioned past initiatives, including a Rs70 billion solar project for farmers and the reconstruction of the N-25 Highway.
The Prime Minister acknowledged Punjab’s contribution of Rs11 billion from its NFC share to Balochistan in 2010, emphasizing the importance of national unity and greater investment in the province.
