Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz Sharif to Begin Official UAE Visit on June 12

Islamabad/Abu Dhabi – June 11, 2025 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will embark on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, June 12, accompanied by a high‑level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, and senior officials.

The itinerary includes a bilateral meeting with UAE President and Abu Dhabi’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with engagements covering a broad range of bilateral, regional, and global priorities. Talks are expected to focus on strengthening economic cooperation, expanding trade and investment, and enhancing collaboration in energy, mining, agriculture, labour and technology sectors.

This visit underlines Pakistan and the UAE’s deep-rooted fraternal ties—based on mutual trust, shared values, and extensive collaboration across multiple fields. The trip aims to further solidify strategic partnerships and explore new avenues for joint progress.

Earlier this year, PM Shehbaz and Sheikh Mohammed had met in Rahim Yar Khan in January, where they agreed to intensify economic, political, and cultural exchange. They also discussed UAE investment in Pakistan’s mining, agriculture, and energy sectors.

This marks PM Shehbaz’s second visit to the UAE since assuming office; his previous two-day trip in February centered on the World Governments Summit in Dubai, where he called for green financing and foreign investment support.

Pakistan views the UAE as a key partner—among its largest Middle Eastern trading allies and a major source of remittances, with over 1.7 million Pakistanis living and working there. With an anticipated focus on economic ties and diaspora welfare, this visit is expected to yield fresh investment commitments and strategic agreements.
