Prime Minister’s Visit to Karachi Naval Dockyard
During his visit to the Karachi Naval Dockyard, PM Shehbaz was received by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu. He boarded the Type-054A Class Destroyer PNS TAIMUR, where he was briefed on the Navy’s strategic orientation and operational undertakings.
India’s Aircraft Carrier Vikrant Retreats
PM Shehbaz highlighted that India’s aircraft carrier Vikrant had approached within 400 nautical miles of Pakistan’s coast but retreated after sensing the preparedness of the Pakistan Navy. He emphasized that the Navy’s state of readiness was exemplary, preventing any maritime aggression.
Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos
The Prime Minister commended the Navy’s pivotal role in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, a large-scale retaliatory military action launched by Pakistan in response to India’s unprovoked aggression. The operation targeted several Indian military targets across multiple regions, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of maritime trade.
Recognition of Armed Forces’ Coordination
PM Shehbaz praised the coordinated performance of the Army, Air Force, and Navy, stating that their combined efforts made it impossible for the adversary to cause any real damage. He also acknowledged the Navy’s use of modern technology, which has significantly boosted its performance and shifted the regional balance of power at sea.
Appreciation for International Mediation
In his address, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for brokering a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, describing him as a “man of peace.”
