Netflix to Release ‘Titan: The OceanGate Disaster’ Documentary on June 11
Netflix is set to premiere its latest documentary, Titan: The OceanGate Disaster, on June 11, 2025. Directed by Mark Monroe, the film delves into the tragic 2023 implosion of the Titan submersible during its descent to the Titanic wreckage, resulting in the loss of all five passengers, including OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush and Pakistani-British businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son, Suleman Dawood.
The documentary offers an in-depth examination of the events leading up to the disaster, featuring whistleblower testimonies, internal communications, and footage from OceanGate’s early operations. It scrutinizes the decisions made by Rush, highlighting concerns over safety protocols and the company’s operational practices .
