Gujrat Police Solve Child Death Case, Mother Confesses Under Investigation

In a harrowing revelation, police in Gujrat have uncovered that a mother, previously reported missing, was responsible for the deaths of her two young children earlier this year.

On February 6, the bodies of five-year-old Shafay and three-year-old Naimat, children of Usman Ahmed, were discovered under mysterious circumstances in their home in the Rangpur locality. Initially, authorities registered a murder case against unidentified suspects. Days later, their mother, Nazish Usman, went missing, prompting the registration of a separate kidnapping case.

District Police Officer Dr. Mustanser Atta Bajwa formed a special investigation team under the DSP City Circle to probe both cases. The breakthrough came when Nazish was located and taken into custody. During interrogation, she confessed to strangling her children, revealing that she intended to marry Samar Abbas of Mohlan Kalan village. According to her statement, Abbas had insisted she eliminate her children if she wished to marry him.

Authorities have initiated proceedings to apprehend Abbas, who has reportedly fled abroad, by seeking assistance from Interpol.

This tragic incident underscores the importance of mental health awareness and the need for support systems to prevent such occurrences.
