PM Shehbaz’s Leadership Helped Pull Pakistan Out of Crisis: Khawaja Asif

KHAWAJA MUHAMMAD ASIF

Sialkot, April 7, 2025 – Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for guiding Pakistan through a difficult period of political and economic instability, stating that the current government has successfully stabilized the country.

While speaking at a laptop distribution ceremony at Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS), Asif credited the Prime Minister’s leadership and the coalition government’s resolve for steering Pakistan out of crisis.

“Despite severe challenges, we’ve put the nation back on the right track. The coalition parties prioritized Pakistan’s future over political gains,” said Asif.

He noted key improvements in areas like agriculture, pointing to record wheat production that helped save the country billions in import costs.

Asif emphasized the government’s focus on youth development, highlighting increased investments in education and skills training. He said this aligns with PM Shehbaz’s vision of empowering the younger generation to build a stable and prosperous Pakistan.

The Defence Minister also acknowledged that the current administration inherited economic challenges from previous governments but remained committed to making difficult decisions for long-term national stability.

“Tough decisions are necessary, but we are ensuring the burden does not fall on the poor. It is the wealthy and elite who will be expected to contribute more,” he added.

Asif reaffirmed the government’s intention to implement reforms that secure Pakistan’s economic recovery and protect the most vulnerable communities.
