Parents are the most important people in our life. They are the ones who have spent their time and energy raising a child from birth to adulthood. They have to work hard, sacrifice time with their families, and give up their own interests for the sake of their children.
1- According to Quran and HadithIslam has given great importance to parents. There are many Quranic Ayahs and Hadiths which mention the importance of parents and how one shout treat them. Some of them are given below:
“And We have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents ….” (Surah Ankaboot 29:8)
“.... And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour ….” (Surah Al-Isra: 17:23)
Disobeying the parents is one of the major sins in Islam. (Tirmidhi: 3020)

2- Disobeying Parents means ‘No Paradis’Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said:“There are three at whom Allah will not look on the Day of Resurrection: The one who disobeys his parents, the woman who imitates men in her outward appearance, and the cuckold. And there are three who will not enter Paradise: The one who disobeys his parents, the drunkard, and the one who reminds people of what he has given them.” (An-Nasai: 2562)

3- Highest Act of WorshipTaking care of parents is one of the highest acts of worship. Even Prophet (S.A.W.) denied a Companion permission to take part in Jihad and order him to take care of his parents.
‘A man came to the Prophet (S.A.W.) asking his permission to take part in Jihad. The Prophet (S.A.W.) asked him, "Are your parents alive?" He replied in the affirmative. The Prophet (S.A.W.) said to him, "Then exert yourself in their service." (Sahih Bukhari: 3004)

4- How to Honour the ParentsA Muslim should honour his parents by fulfilling their needs and obligations towards them, being respectful to them, treating them kindly and with love, and making sure that they are happy. A Muslim should always remember to thank Allah for all the blessings He has given him through his parents.
If a person honors his parents, this may be the cause of his own children honoring him. As Allah says in Quran:
“Is the reward for good [anything] but good?” (Surah Ar-Rahman 55:60)

5- Dua for ParentsWe must always make Duas for our parents. We must pray to Allah for their healthy long life and the best of both worlds. Even after they die, we must pray for their Maghfirah (May Allah Forgive them) and ask Allah to grant them the highest place in Jannah. Following are some Duas for parents:  رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لِي وَلِوَٰلِدَيَّ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلۡحِسَابُ(Rabbanaghfir Lee Wa Liwaalidayya Wa Lil-Mu’mineena Yawma Yaqoomul H’isaab)Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established. (Surah Ibraheem 14:41)

رَّبِّ ٱرْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِى صَغِيرًا(Rabbi  irhamhuma kama rabbayani sagheera)My Lord, have mercy upon them (parents) as they brought me up [when I was] small.
