In a significant move to bolster defense cooperation and regional stability, Pakistan and China convened a high-level security meeting at the Pakistan Air Force Headquarters in Islamabad on July 8, 2025. The session was attended by Lieutenant General Wang Gang, Chief of Staff of China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu of the Pakistan Air Force.

During in-depth discussions on regional security dynamics and mutual airpower strategy, Pakistan showcased its modern air force capabilities, including strategic doctrines and emerging operational planning. The Chinese delegation expressed keen interest in further enhancing training, technological synergy, and joint operational protocols.
This meeting builds upon a series of recent Pakistan–China defense engagements, including intelligence-sharing agreements, special protection initiatives for Chinese nationals working on CPEC projects, and naval collaboration such as joint maritime exercises in the Arabian Sea.
Pakistan’s military leadership confirmed the two nations’ unity in advancing regional peace and counterterrorism efforts, emphasizing shared resolve against unilateralism and hegemonic threats. Officials highlighted ongoing enhancements in border security, cyber defense, hybrid warfare readiness, and protective measures for key economic corridors.
Analysts note that such engagements reaffirm Pakistan’s strategic alignment with China and serve as a deterrent to potential asymmetric military threats, ensuring enhanced operational integration across land, sea, air, and cyber domains in South Asia.
