Islamabad/Tehran, June 13, 2025 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in Iran to deliver full support for Pakistani zaireen (pilgrims) amid escalating tensions in the region. A dedicated Crisis Management Cell has been established at Foreign Office headquarters to coordinate efforts for their safety and timely repatriation.

In a formal directive on Friday, the PM emphasized that all relevant ministries and embassy staff must remain on highest alert and maintain continuous communication channels until the situation stabilizes.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar echoed the Prime Minister’s priorities, denouncing recent Israeli attacks on Iran as flagrant violations of sovereignty and expressed Islamabad’s strong support to counter threats compromising regional security
