Surah Al-Kafirun: The Warning for Disbelievers

Surah Al-Kafirun is one of the most important chapters in the Holy Book of Allah. The passage contains six verses, warning Muslims against idolatry and guiding them to follow the right approach when dealing with the disbelievers – those who do not believe in Allah SWT.
Here’s the translation for the six verses of Surah Al-Kafirun:
Say, "O disbelievers,
I do not worship what you worship.
Nor are you worshipers of what I worship.
Nor will I be a worshiper of what you worship.
Nor will you be worshipers of what I worship.
For you is your religion, and for me is my religion."

Rewards and Virtue
There are also several rewards for the believers who recite Surah Al-Kafirun with their utmost belief. Some of these include:
1- Safety From Shirk
It is believed that reciting Surah Al-Kafirun offers clearance from Shirk. Prophet Muhammad SAW himself repeated the verses from this sacred chapter during the Fajr and Maghrib prayers, which further amplifies the importance of this Surah.
2- One-Fourth of the Quran
According to authentic Hadiths, for those who recite Surah Al-Kafirun, it is like reading a quarter (one-fourth) of the Quran.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever recites Idha Zulzilat, it equals half of the Qur'an for him. Whoever recites: Qul Ya Ayyuhal-Kafirun it equals a fourth of the Qur'an for him. And whoever recites: Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad it equals a third of the Qur'an for him.” – [Tirmidhi: 2893]

3- Drives Evil Away
It is also believed that Shaytan never touches the reciter of Surah Al-Kafirun as Allah SWT dispels all the negativity and fear away from His beloved reciter.

Farwah b. Nawfal quoted his father as saying that the Prophet (ﷺ) said to Nawfal (his father): “Recite (the Surah) 'Say, O you disbelievers!' and then go to sleep at its end, for it is a declaration of freedom from polytheism.” – [Abu Dawud: 5055 - Sahih]

4- Ensures Safe Journey
It is worth mentioning that Surah Al-Kafirun is also one of the five chapters of the Holy Quran which should be recited before a journey to ensure safe travels.
Our Beloved Prophet (SAW) said that he asked Jabir-ibn-Mat’am whether he wished to have the best companions and the most amount of provisions with him when he was on a journey. When he replied, he did, then, Prophet (SAW) said: “Recite these five Suras: Kafirun, Nasr, Ikhlas, Falaq, and Nas, and start your recitation with ‘Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim’, and end your recitation with ‘Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim’”. – [Musnad Abu Ya'la: 7382]
