In a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs), Pakistan’s security forces have successfully neutralized 12 terrorists affiliated with Indian-sponsored proxy outfits in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed these operations, highlighting the ongoing efforts to dismantle networks threatening national security.

Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

In KP, multiple IBOs were conducted:

  • Lakki Marwat District: Five terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were eliminated.
  • Bannu District: Two Indian-sponsored terrorists were neutralized.
  • North Waziristan (Mir Ali area): Two terrorists were killed following an ambush on a security convoy.

Tragically, during the North Waziristan operation, two Pakistani soldiers—Sepoy Farhad Ali Turi (29) from Kurram and Lance Naik Sabir Afridi (32) from Kohat—embraced martyrdom.

Engagements in Balochistan

In Balochistan, security forces targeted militants from the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF):

  • Gishkur, Awaran District: One terrorist, identified as Younas, was killed, and two others were injured.
  • Turbat City, Kech District: Two high-profile terrorists, including ringleader Sabr Ullah and Amjad alias Bichoo, were neutralized.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from these operations. The ISPR stated that these militants were involved in attacks against law enforcement agencies and targeted killings of civilians.

Ongoing Efforts

Sanitization operations are currently underway to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements in the affected areas. The Pakistani military remains determined to thwart attempts by Indian proxies to sabotage peace and stability in the region.
