In a significant diplomatic initiative, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has been entrusted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to lead a high-level delegation aimed at presenting Pakistan’s perspective on recent regional developments to key world capitals.
The delegation, comprising prominent figures such as Senator Sherry Rehman, former federal minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Musaddiq Malik, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Faisal Sabzwari, Tehmina Janjua, and Jalil Abbas Jilani, is scheduled to visit Washington, London, Brussels, and Paris. The objective is to articulate Pakistan’s position following the recent escalation with India, which was triggered by a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), leading to a brief but intense military confrontation.
Bilawal, who previously served as Pakistan’s foreign minister, expressed his commitment to this responsibility, stating on his official social media account that he was “honoured to accept this responsibility and remains committed to serving Pakistan in these challenging times.”
The delegation’s mission includes countering India’s narrative regarding the conflict and highlighting issues such as India’s alleged aggression and the broader implications for regional peace and stability. The initiative underscores Pakistan’s proactive approach to international diplomacy and its efforts to engage with the global community on matters of national and regional importance.
