UAE Debunks Golden Visa Shortcut Claims, Warns Against Fake Schemes

The United Arab Emirates has officially dismissed rumors suggesting a “shortcut” golden visa scheme available for a fixed fee, affirming that such claims are false and without any legal basis. Authorities from ICP, SCA, and VARA emphasized that all golden visa applications must proceed through official UAE government channels and no external consultancy firms are authorized to offer fast-track or lifetime visa services.

Experts have raised alarm over fake offers circulating on social media and through unethical consultancies, promising lifetime residency or visas for payments ranging from AED 100,000 to INR 23 lakh. The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) clarified that the golden visa program adheres to established eligibility criteria — including real estate investments, entrepreneurship, specialized talent, outstanding students, and humanitarian or frontline work — and is not purchasable via shortcuts.

Authorities cautioned prospective applicants to be vigilant, highlighting that the actual processing cost via authorized channels is approximately AED 3,000 (plus medical and Emirates ID fees). They reaffirmed that nomination-based pathways still require strict vetting, background checks, and adherence to official procedures. Legal measures will be pursued against entities promoting misleading offers or collecting money under false pretenses.

The public has been urged to rely solely on official government platforms, Amer service centres, GDRFA, DET, or ICP for accurate information and to avoid consultant-driven scams.
