Pakistan Launches Global Diplomatic Campaign to Counter India’s ‘False Narrative’ Post-Conflict

In the aftermath of the recent military escalation between Pakistan and India, Pakistan’s Senator Sherry Rehman has announced a comprehensive diplomatic initiative aimed at exposing what she describes as India’s “false narrative” constructed during the conflict. The campaign seeks to highlight India’s alleged dissemination of misinformation and to present Pakistan’s perspective on the events that transpired.

According to Senator Rehman, India employed “fake news” tactics to shape international opinion during the conflict. She emphasized that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, grounded in factual representation, have gained traction globally. “Apart from the military victory, Pakistan’s diplomacy is winning as it remained with the facts and did not allow a strategic drift,” Rehman stated.

In response to India’s narrative, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commissioned a high-level diplomatic delegation to visit key world capitals, including London, Washington, Paris, and Brussels. The delegation, led by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, comprises prominent figures such as Senator Sherry Rehman, Dr. Musadik Malik, Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Hina Rabbani Khar, Faisal Subzwari, Tehmina Janjua, and Jalil Abbas Jilani. Their mission is to counter India’s disinformation campaign and to advocate for regional peace and stability .

Senator Rehman also highlighted internal dissent within India regarding its approach to the conflict. She referenced an article by BJP-backed journalist R. Jagannathan, which critiques India’s engagement on multiple fronts, against Pakistan, China, and internal dissent, labeling it as fighting on “2.5 fronts.”

Additionally, Rehman addressed concerns over India’s intentions concerning the Indus Waters Treaty, expressing apprehension about potential unilateral actions by India that could disrupt regional water security. She stressed the importance of continued diplomatic engagement on water issues, involving climate experts and international stakeholders.

The Pakistani delegation’s efforts are set to unfold over the next two weeks, with a focus on reinforcing Pakistan’s narrative and countering India’s claims on the international stage. This initiative underscores Pakistan’s commitment to proactive diplomacy in the face of regional tensions.
