Bilawal Alleges India Sabotaging Trump’s Peace Mediation Efforts Over Kashmir
Islamabad/New York, June 11, 2025 — Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has accused India of intentionally undermining US-led peace efforts in South Asia, including initiatives facilitated by former President Donald Trump.
Speaking from his ongoing diplomatic tour in Washington and New York, Bilawal claimed that New Delhi has consistently obstructed efforts aimed at establishing meaningful Indo-Pak dialogue, particularly on Kashmir—a core issue in any sustainable peace process. He warned that India’s tactics risk derailing broader regional stability and peace.
Bilawal reiterated Pakistan’s openness to ceasefire discussions but emphasized that dialogue must centrally address the Kashmir dispute. He urged the United States to maintain its peace-brokering role and press India to fully participate. Bilawal stated the fate of 1.7 billion South Asians should not hinge on what he described as India’s unilateral strategies.
At the United Nations, he further accused India of violating the Indus Waters Treaty, describing it as using “water as a weapon” against Pakistan. Bilawal’s delegation is actively engaging with US officials, UN diplomats, and representatives from major powers to highlight Pakistan’s position.
