Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s uncompromising stance on national sovereignty and territorial integrity during a recent press briefing. He cautioned that any miscalculation by adversaries would face “a swift, resolute, and notch‑up response” from the armed forces.

During a visit to military exercises and academic forums, the field marshal not only praised operational readiness but also underscored the armed forces’ preparedness to confront “the entire spectrum of threats,” including traditional incursions, terrorism, and water-security challenges. He emphasized that measures would be “comprehensive, decisive, retributive” if Pakistan’s sovereignty were violated.

Munir also flagged that India’s attempts to assert dominance—be it through military activity or transboundary water manipulation—would not be tolerated. He described water as a “red line” and reaffirmed that Pakistan would never accept Indian hegemony over its national affairs. At the same time, he invited national unity in confronting foreign-sponsored terrorism, particularly in provinces like Balochistan
