Pakistani gas consumers are bracing for substantial increases in their gas bills starting July 2025, following significant tariff hike proposals from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).
Key Highlights:
- SNGPL’s Proposal:
- Seeks a 42% increase in gas prices, raising rates to Rs2,485.72 per MMBTU.
- Cites a revenue shortfall of Rs207.4 billion and escalating costs of indigenous gas and RLNG.
- Public hearings scheduled for April 18 in Lahore and April 28 in Peshawar.
- SSGC’s Proposal:
- Requests a 159% hike, aiming to set the tariff at Rs4,137.49 per MMBTU.
