Gohar Khan: PTI Ready for Talks with Establishment Despite Roadblocks

Pakistan Tehreek‑e‑Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated on June 21 that PTI remains open to “serious and result‑oriented contacts” with Pakistan’s establishment, even as ongoing attempts to revive dialogue have faltered.

He acknowledged that “some individuals” within both the government and PTI have obstructed communication through their statements or actions. Gohar recalled that a high‑level government contact reached out to him before Eid, but efforts to resume meaningful talks have collapsed in recent days.

The unexpected breakdown reportedly follows controversial remarks by PTI founder Imran Khan and recent protests by PTI supporters in the United States—both of which appear to have upset establishment circles. Additionally, Gohar mentioned that a coordinated strategy within PTI remains lacking, further complicating negotiation efforts.

Imran Khan, now incarcerated, had earlier postponed a planned nationwide protest amid global tensions, with his sister Noreen Niazi confirming the move from jail directives.

Gohar emphasized that PTI has not initiated formal negotiations yet, and disputed reports of any back‑door agreement. He reiterated that PTI simply restored contact—not secured a deal—with the establishment
