Former cricketer pays condolences and discusses the future of cricket in Pakistan

Rawalpindi – Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Khan Afridi met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, Afridi offered his heartfelt condolences to the Army Chief on the passing of his mother. The two also exchanged views on the current state of cricket in Pakistan.

Afridi emphasized the importance of cricket as the nation’s premier source of entertainment and national pride. He underscored the need for visionary leadership in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to steer the game forward.

While appreciating Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s passion for cricket, Afridi pointed out the challenges of holding dual roles and stressed the need for full-time focus on cricket administration.
