4 Reasons to Recite the Holy Qur’an Daily

“Such a person as recites the Qur’an and masters it by heart, will be with the (angels) honorable and obedient (in heaven). And such a person as exerts himself to learn the Qur’an by heart, and recites it with great difficulty, will have a double reward.” - Sahih Al-Bukhari: 4937

Indeed, Al-Qur’an is the complete guide to a man’s life. It delineates an ethical code of conduct for life, highlighting the practices we must follow as Muslims to enter Jannah with good grades.
That said, here are 4 distinct reasons to make a habit of reciting the Holy Qur’an every day:

1- It Guides Us Through Tough Moments
The Holy Qur’an is the last revelation to be bestowed upon our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and it is reflected as an everlasting guide for the entire humanity.
Hence, reciting the Qur’an with meaning offers all the guidance one may need in this life from the Almighty Allah to jump through the obstacles of life.
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUP) once mentioned:
“[Whoever recites a letter] from Allah’s Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter.” - Al-Tirmidhi: 2910
2- It Increases Our Rewards In This Life and the Hereafter
Not only does reciting the Qur’an amplify our rewards in this life, but it also saves us from the fire of Jahannam, leading us straight to Jannah.
Each word we read from the Qur’an vouches for us on the day of judgment and proclaims to Allah (SWT) to forgive the one who recited it.
3- It Brings Us Closer to Allah (SWT)
Not to mention, reading the Qur’an every day with meaning automatically brings us closer to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, not just in this life but also in the Hereafter.
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“You will be with those whom you love (on the day of judgment).” - Sahih Muslim: 2639(a)
4- It Gives Our Heart Tranquility and Peace
There’s an unmatchable solace in remembering Allah (SWT) that we can’t find elsewhere. Of course, one of the best forms of remembrance is reciting the Qur’an since it purifies our heart from evil while engraving a sense of soul-inducing calmness.
Indeed, reciting the Qur’an and understanding the meaning behind Allah (SWT) ’s words is the one solution we need for all our problems in life. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala lead us to the right path and prevent us from departing from it again. Ameen.
