Tragic Blast in Mastung: Three Security Personnel Martyred, Multiple Injured in Targeted Attack
On April 15, 2025, a devastating explosion targeted a police vehicle in the Shamsabad area of Mastung district, Balochistan, resulting in the martyrdom of three Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel and injuring at least 16 others.
According to official reports, the attack was carried out using a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle. The device detonated as the police truck, transporting personnel from Kalat via the Regional Training Centre (RTC), passed by.
In response to the incident, an emergency was declared at Bolan Medical Complex Hospital and Civil Hospital in Quetta. The injured were promptly transported to these facilities, with two individuals reported to be in critical condition.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack and directed Health Minister Bakht Kakar to oversee the medical care of the injured, emphasizing that no negligence would be tolerated. He affirmed the government’s commitment to stand by the families of the martyrs.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and reiterated the government’s resolve to combat terrorism until its complete eradication from the country.
This tragic incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in Balochistan, a region that has witnessed a surge in terrorist activities in recent years.
